Job Description
The Student Success Coordinator works closely with the College Access Counselors to implement the Ayers Scholars Program in the assigned partner high school. The Student Success Coordinator conducts ongoing quality monitoring and data entry to ensure electronic databases are kept up to date. Provides high-touch interactions with high school students to maintain eligibility requirements and identify and mitigate barriers. Provides critical retention efforts with Ayers Scholars alumni through postsecondary completion. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with College Access Counselors to identify, prioritize, contact, and assist students through completing essential postsecondary enrollment and retention tasks outlined in the Ayers Scholars Way.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of AFT database and any other required documentation. Assist in updating required fields, verifying information accuracy, and ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines and ongoing quality audits.
  • Proactively monitor and ensure students complete and submit community service hours by deadlines for continued scholarship eligibility.
  • Promote retention efforts by maintaining regular contact with Ayers Alumni each semester until completion of a degree program. Additional contact may be required for at-risk students or those needing assistance to maximize student success and retention.
  • Support Ayers Scholars Program efforts to provide services to 8th grade and underclassman students through relationship building, events, presentations, etc. Support all Ayers Scholars Program events and services.  
  • Manage the office workspace and oversee supply inventory. Continuously strive to improve office procedures, organization, and productivity.
  • Assist with implementing the Ayers Scholars Program by answering basic questions and directing students and families to the appropriate resources for further assistance. Escalate high-priority needs to the College Access Counselor for early intervention and support.
  • Coordinate local scholarship opportunities, distributing and organizing a system for sharing information and assisting with the application process. In high schools where Ayers Scholarships are distributed, monitor Ayers Scholarship contracts to ensure continuing eligibility when applicable. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director.

Reporting:

  • This position reports to the Regional Director. 
  • This position receives daily direction and delegation from the College Access Counselors in their high school and the Regional Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma required
  • Proficient with database entry, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Salesforce platform experience beneficial
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents/guardians, and educational institutions
